I'm Nola!

 

I started stand-up comedy at the age of 19 in Calgary, Alberta. There I immediately discovered I’m hilarious and was accepted into  Humber College’s Comedy Writing and Performance program. Therefore, proving that I am, in fact, hilarious. I even won the Eugene Levy Comedy writing award for my 10 minute short play “All For Nothing”.

 

After spending several years at late night open mics between Toronto and NYC, I decided to challenge myself to take my unique writing talents in order to turn them into reality using the art of film. While attending film school, I (re)discovered the beauty in analog film and photography. Unfortunately, after a prolonged experience with  Anti-Blackness in film school -  I had to write about it. This article entitled "Confessions of a Deservedly Angry Black Women", which was published a piece by THE TOWN.TO,  went viral.

 

Now, after ten years in entertainment - I finally started a production company for da people.

 

 As a newly established Toronto based multimedia production company, we aim to serve any BIPOC, 2SLGBTQAI+, and Femme independent artists and story tellers.
